Connecticut Personal Income Tax Summary

About This Dashboard

Welcome to the new State of Connecticut ("CT") personal income tax ("PIT") dashboard on the CT Open Data Portal!
Beginning with tax year ("TY") 2021, this dashboard will be the new home for the "Individual Income Tax Reports" which were previously uploaded to the Department of Revenue Services ("DRS") page of the state website. The reports for tax years 2004-2020 can be found here.
To ensure completeness and continuity, the data tables behind this dashboard are similar in structure and content to the previous income tax reports. Furthermore, you can export or view the source data of these data assets by clicking the more options icon (vertical ellipses) located in the top right corner of the tables.
For your convenience, the four main data assets used to produce this dashboard's visualization are linked below:
Below is a table that presents the basis and rate of the CT PIT for tax years commencing on or after January 1, 2015.

Totals for Tax Years 2021 and 2022

The bar graph below shows the number of filers which includes residents, part-year residents, and nonresidents.
This second bar graph provides totals for Federal Adjusted Gross Income ("AGI"), CT AGI, and CT income tax for tax years 2021 and 2022.

Connecticut Adjusted Gross Income

CT AGI, which is used to compute the income subject to state income tax, is based on the federal AGI with certain additions and subtractions. The table below stratifies several key PIT variables by CT AGI intervals. Please click here to explore the entire data asset.
